Tips for Homeowners
- Keep dog and cat food well sealed. Rats are extremely attracted to this smell.
- Pick up fallen nuts and citrus fruit from your lawn.
- Make sure tree branches are not providing easy roof access. Trim branches at least 18 inches away from roof.
- Clean up bird seed spillage from feeders.
- Keep garbage tightly sealed in metal cannisters.
- Remove excess weeds and keep bushes trimmed. Rats are more likely to investigate homes where there is easy cover to hide in.
