Catching Squirrels in Traps Baited with Food

Single traps baited with food is what most people think of as animal traps. These traps work well if once properly placed. You cannot set these traps anywhere and expect squirrels to go running in. The traps have to be set in the attic or on the roof to get results.


A squirrel approaches a single food baited trap. Nuts and fresh fruit are excellent baits for squirrels.



Squirrels crave water more than food when they are in the attic. Baiting traps with water rich foods, like oranges, is very effective for trapping squirrels.



Multiple catches made at one home using food baited traps. The problem of this trapping method is that it is not targeted. I wouldn't know if I've caught all the squirrels that were using the attic, if this were the only types of traps I used. But using these single traps, along with trapping the animal entry points, and sealing the building is guaranteed to solve the problem quickly and safely.
